Curacao

Curacao is a Dutch island that lies about thirty-five miles off the coast of Venezuela. It was claimed by the Dutch in 1634. When oil was discovered in Venezuela, a huge refinery was built on Curacao. I was told that much of the fuel used by the Allies in WW II in Europe came from Curacao. So does an orange-flavored liqueur that is usually colored blue.
