DCP02675.JPG (72181 bytes) Salisbury cathedral was fascinating. It was built correctly in the 11th century, then 50 years later they added a very heavy spire. The columns started to bend outwards from the extra weight and they retrofitted all sorts of extra bracing. You can still see the bend in the columns!

DCP02694.JPG (110802 bytes) And there, in the chapel of the prisoners of conscience, was another window by Gabriel Loire of Chartres who did the windows for our home parish, Christ Church, Los Altos! It seems that we run across his work on every trip.
