Normandy is the apple growing and dairy region of France. We spent our first night in Rouen, then drove westward as far as the peninsula which sticks up into the English Channel. We stayed in the castle of Bricquebec and then drove on into Brittany the next day.

		In fact, cows are so important in Normandy that they get the right-of-way on the highways, and have statues erected to them.
		Visiting Normandy in May gets you there in apple blossom season, a glorious sight! There are also a lot of horse farms in Normandy.

The "Hotel du Vieux Chateau" is located in the castle of Bricquebec. It was fun to spend a night in a medieval castle.

		The hotel rooms have been built within the old castle residence. The alcove behind us leads to the spiral staircase up to the closet. Past the closet, the staircase is walled off.
		The rest of the castle is mostly in ruins.
		The town of Bricquebec lies just outside the castle gates.
