Paris! The city of light! Fritz lived here as a boy, and later lived and
worked in Paris for a couple of years. One of his affectations is to consider Paris his home town.
On this trip we saw two very different cities: Paris from a car, and Paris on
foot. Paris in a car is a series of clogged streets and quick navigational
decisions, a fruitless search for a parking place, and quick snapshots through
the windshield. Paris on foot is long boulevards, interesting buildings,
fabulous shop windows and glorious monuments.

 |
For comparison, here is what Paris by car looks like: quick
glimpses of the monuments, and then trying to figure out where to go when
all the streets are one-way against you. |
 |
 |
Whereas on foot, you get to study the monuments close up,
and find interesting little back streets. |

Our last day was a Sunday, so we went to the American
Cathedral in Paris. Fritz was an acolyte here in 1955. His daughters were
acolytes here in 1979. Many wonderful memories! |

We spent the afternoon strolling around enjoying the sights. |
