The Eastern Alps

To the south and east of Salzburg is the Dachstein massif, another large protrusion of spectacular limestone. We took a quick one-day tour of the area. We followed the Enns river valley along the south side as far as Puergg, then came back along the north side in the valley between the Dachstein and the Salzkamergut (the next massif to the north.)
