Glacier Skiing

The Kitzsteinhorn, at 3,203 M (10,508 ft.), forms a towering backdrop to the town of Kaprun. A glacier near the summit allows year-round skiing. While we are in no shape for skiing, we did take the aerial tramway (Gletscherjet) up to the top to enjoy the views and see the conditions for ourselves. As far as we could tell, the snow was quite moist, but eminently skiable. We had brought sweaters and jackets in anticipation of the cold, but shed them very quickly. It waspositivly balmy up there!
