Embarkation
Our
cruise started in England's primary channel port, Dover. The Prinsendam
was waiting for us at the cruise ship terminal. We checked in and waited
for our turn to board. Our suitcases were already in our cabin, so we
unpacked and went up on deck.
Dover is dominated by Dover Castle high on the cliffs overlooking the port. The shore is characterized by the famed white cliffs, towering masses of chalk visible from far out in the channel. See the pictures below.
As evening fell, we sailed for Oslo and found our way to the dining room for our first meal on board.
